A New Whitney
A visually rich and immersive review of the new Whitney Museum in downtown New York.
This project has won an ASNE award.
It has been said that “writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” Why only tell, when you can hear — or in our case, show?
This was the idea driving our interactive feature “A New Whitney.” We worked with Michael Kimmelman, The Times’s architecture critic, from the beginning to develop the graphics, video and even the page itself, in concert with early drafts of his formal review. Our goal was to create a seamless experience that would leave readers with a greater understanding of the building than could be achieved in a more traditional story form.

Arch Daily says of the review,
"As a matter of fact, it might even be the most important article in recent architectural memory."
